HOP, received a formal invitation from the City of San Jose's Office of Economic Development.  HOP, has been invited to share space at the City's satellite location at the Kirkland Community Center, along with a other prestigious organiztions and City Staff.  The City of San Jose, Barbara Gregory of the Economic Development Department, loves HOP's 'peer-to-peer piece, reentry, business coaching and training and other client services and programs.  We are obviously, deeply flattered.

From the President of HOP:  Perhaps, our readers and supporters, have been wondering, why Hop's site-information became so stale over the past 90 days.  Frankly, we went through several months of being hacked (cat and mouse style), nearly every day, I suspect by people who wanted to build a new web site for HOP.  We are very pleased with the work of Daniel Lukin, HOP's webmaster and BioTech student - we don't claim to be professionals in this regard.  We simply utilize our own, and wil be updating all of HOP's articles ... shortly!

A recent report by the National Alliance to End Homelessness, showed that 76,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. States with the largest homeless veteran population include:  * California: 19,163; * Florida: 7,794; and * New York: 5,857.

Silicon Valley Rotating Shelter for Homeless Men Re-established

Faith in Action forms 501(c)()3 to fill need for shelter and case management

NOVEMBER 18, 2011--SUNNYVALE, CA—Faith in Action Silicon Valley Rotating Shelter ("SV Rotating Shelter") announced today that they have formed a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation to provide shelter and other life-enhancing services to homeless men throughout Santa Clara County. The program, targeted to officially begin operating March 1, 2012, will be open to 15 “guests” at a time who may stay in the program for up to 90 days.

CTC (St Joseph) Worker Center is open from 6:30 - 2:00 Tuesday to Friday. They are located 749 Story Road. (408) 993-0837. There are jobs for painting, handyman, moving, housekeeping, landscaping & other jobs. You have to be a registered day worker to have access to shower, computers, free breakfast and lunch. There is a shower for women as well. In the middle of the computer area, they have boxes of donated clothes. Please let the guys know this who are interested in working.

HOP welcomes, Rose Valerio and to HOP's professional training team.   Rose Valerio, is the former Assistant Trainer, at the Department of Social Services in San Jose California.  Rose, will provide expert help for individuals who need vocational training help, to include job searches, constructing resumes and how to locate business opportunities.

One of the great things about being in the position that I am in, as President of HOP, an outdoor citizen myself (for a period of time), I get to say, what some of my other professional and well-intended peers, even fellow clerics, cannot say. Outdoor Citizens: "You need to get up off of your butts and help yourselves, some of you are not doing anything but waiting for the food wagons and making excuses".  So having said that, please read outdoor citizen, Tom Johnson's article (in the Article Section), and read my comments below.  Or will you still be a depdendent outdoor citizen in year 2020?
